Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

RevApp ("we", "us", or "our") is a review aggregation platform that helps users discover honest, fan-driven opinions about movies and TV shows. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using RevApp, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Automatically Collected Information

When you visit RevApp, we may automatically collect:

  • Usage data — pages visited, search queries, features used (e.g. review browsing, AI summaries)
  • Device information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution
  • Referral data — how you arrived at RevApp (e.g. search engine, social media link)

2.2 Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with RevApp. GA4 may set cookies on your device to track sessions and page views. This data is anonymised and aggregated — we cannot identify individual users from it.

We also collect server-side product metrics (search query counts, review fetch counts, AI summarisation usage) that contain no personal information whatsoever.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

RevApp does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or account credentials (RevApp has no user accounts)
  • Payment or financial information
  • Precise geolocation data
  • IP addresses in our custom analytics (GA4 may process IPs per Google's privacy policy)

3. Cookies & Consent

RevApp uses Google Consent Mode v2. When you first visit, all analytics cookies are denied by default. A consent banner asks for your permission before any tracking cookies are set.

  • If you accept — GA4 analytics cookies are enabled to help us improve RevApp
  • If you decline — no analytics cookies are set; GA4 runs in cookieless mode with modelled (anonymised) data only

You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site and refreshing the page — the consent banner will appear again.

4. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Understand which features are most valuable to users
  • Identify and fix technical issues
  • Measure the performance of our AI summarisation system
  • Improve search relevance and content curation

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

RevApp integrates with the following third-party services:

These services have their own privacy policies that govern their data handling practices.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Opt out of analytics — decline cookies via the consent banner
  • Request data deletion — since we collect no personal identifiers, there is generally no personal data to delete
  • Access information — contact us to learn what data, if any, is associated with your use

8. Children's Privacy

RevApp is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information.
